Oh, you'd just rather I stop putting words in your mouth. That works, too.

Anyway, when I first came here, I was thrilled to find a place to use as a showcase for my literary endeavors. Not a lot of effort had to go into the basic upkeep of my account on this site, so I could just post and get back to work. Beat the pants off of trying to maintain a private website, just to display some text.
The arrangement was that I put everything I made, both polished and non, onto this site. The problem with that is that I aspire to publication. Publishers, whether of full length novels or magazines of short stories, prefer exclusivity on the first printing. In the interest of keeping negotiations with publishers simple, I now use my account here as more of a place to deposit practice pieces, while polished prose heads straight to the publisher(s). I'll make a mention here whenever a piece of mine is accepted for print, so that whatever followers I have at that future date can try to track down a copy.

I was monolingual.
I had never been outside of the United States.
I had never attended school.
I came to this site a fifteen year old boy with one big idea in mind and too much time on hand.

I am trilingual.
I lived and studied in Tokyo last Summer.
In three weeks, I will have a bachelor's degree.
I come to you now a twenty year old man bursting with ideas and precious little time to develop them.

What a long strange trip it's been, indeed.
